Microbiome Analysis: Standardized

Tuesday, July 16th
11AM
SPH II – Room M1112

Microbiome research has grown at an exponential pace, and its holds promise for the future of many different fields of research.  With this rapid growth has come difficulties with ensuring that studies are reproducible and comparable.  This talk will cover the development of a standard to help benchmark and validate microbiome methods as well as the development of methods based on testing with this standard.  Finally, we will discuss a new 16S analysis tool called FIGARO that has been developed to optimize DADA2 trimming parameter settings.
